Resort Meetings Consortium Formed

A new organization has formed
to provide cost-effective meeting and incentive planning at resorts around
the world for corporations, associations and other organizations.
Resort
Meetings Consortium (RMC) was established by a group of former
resort sales and marketing executives. Labeling itself as the first of its
kind in the meeting planning industry, the company works primarily with four-
and five-diamond resort properties, assuring the best products and services
for its clients. By negotiating as a large group, clients receive better rates
based on buying power, according to RMC.
"Our goal is to form a
binding consortium for corporations, organizations or basically any group
that uses top-rated resorts around the world," says Jerry Janove,
Vice President of Sales and a founder of RMC.
Janove also says that the organization appeals to those who may be indirectly
involved in the meeting planning industry. "Maybe it's not an incentive
planner putting together a meeting, but a Vice President or an assistant who
must arrange it. Resort meetings are much different and more complex than
a downtown or suburban meeting. It's not that easy."
"I'm looking at RMC
as a bit of a hybrid in terms of a traditional incentive house," says
Trish Haudricourt, manager of meetings and travel services for Harley Davidson
Motor Co. and a member of RMC. "RMC
knows some of the ins and outs that we on the corporate side may not know.
It's an alternative to outsourcing, and it's augmenting our resources."
There are no registration fees!
RMC clients receive assistance with site
selection, resort contract negotiation, general program guidance, and a resource
fulfillment center as part of their client benefit package.
